Total Weed Control and Vegetation Management
While weeds can be unsightly, they can also pose a major hazard. Many species of weeds are not native to Canada and are rapidly capable of taking over fields, pastures and prairies. Marksmen has been working for 30 years at mitigating these hazards, and protecting our green spaces. Employing GIS and GPS tracking technology, Marksmen is able to offer the unique ability for our clients to be able to follow along in real time, the tracking on your vegetation control.
Vegetation Management Services
In many areas it is often necessary to keep the ground free of any vegetation, typically inside the berms within an oil lease and around facilities and infrastructure. At Marksmen Vegetation we offer multiple different packages to best suit your vegetation needs. Our contact application program provides a coverage that controls weeds at their most active growing stage. Using non-residual herbicides, this program only kills what is touched and may require two or three applications for season long control. Our residual program offers comprehensive coverage for a full growing season, up to eight months. No matter your budget or vegetation requirements, at Marksmen we will make sure to keep your ground weed free.
Selective Vegetation Management
Weeds are undesirable plants that compete with other plants for sun, water, and soil nutrients. These are often broadleaf weeds such as Dandelions and Canada Thistle. Using a selective tank mix of herbicides engineered to control only broadleaf weeds, our application provides control for both nuisance and noxious weeds. Broadleaf weeds such as Scentless Chamomile and Common Tansy can be controlled using selective herbicides. Leaving the native grasses intact while providing control of broadleaf weeds, our application allows for control of unwanted vegetation while maintaining desired growth.
Vegetation Management Annual Programs
In only one application our residual program described above will provide season long control of all your weeds. This is backed by Marksmen's warranty program. If you are not happy with the final results, Marksmen will come in and clean up any weeds free of charge. The annual program mix’s herbicides from four different groups giving you total control and reduced chances of weed resistance. Crews only visit your location ONCE for the entire growing season. Other companies will send their crews to your locations 3x to get the same control with a contact program. The ecological footprint, safety concerns and cost of visiting your location 3 x’s/ year must be considered. An annual program can be set up in early spring through to late fall depending on your schedule.
Equipment
Marksmen Vegetation Management utilizes a commercial fleet of 30 trucks and 15 UTVs. Our oldest spray unit is from 2012, with the majority of our fleet being new F550s.
Our equipment is kept up-to-date and is maintained regularly as part of our preventative maintenance program. All spraying equipment exceeds strict industry standards and looks professional when at your location. As part of the IVMAA registries program, all trucks have met the requirements set out in the IVMAA code of standards and good practices.
Our Warranty
We offer a comprehensive warranty on many of Marksmen’s herbicide application programs. This ensures that if the product is compromised by uncontrollable elements no adverse effects will be felt by your company. For example, if a heavy rainstorm impacted the work done by our maintenance program Marksmen’s warranty would cover the cost of fixing any detrimental impacts caused by the rain.
